Code Changing Lives

One Man's Journey from Homeless to Hacker...

I have a bit in the footer of this site that says I think code can change lives. My mother-in-law asked me what I meant by that and one good example is the addiction app I'm working on. Another good example is the story of Leo Grand and Patrick McConlogue. Patrick is a programmer who taught Leo, a homeless man, to write code.

I know Patrick took some heat for doing this (honestly, not really sure why) but I say well done. Every other person in NYC just passed Leo by. Patrick took an interest, came up with a creative solution, and followed through. In the future, I hope to see more examples of how code can change lives like Leo's.
